Sine wave inverter power supply

Sine wave inverter power supply is the use of thyristor circuit to convert direct current into alternating current, which corresponds to the reverse process of rectification, defined as inverter. For example, the application of thyristor electric locomotive, when downhill the DC motor as a generator braking operation, the potential energy of the locomotive into electric energy, back to the AC power grid. Also such as running DC motor, to make it brake quickly, can also let the motor as a generator operation, the kinetic energy of the motor into electric energy, anti sent to the grid.

The circuit that converts direct current into alternating current is called inverter circuit. Under certain circumstances, the same set of thyristor converter circuit can be used as both rectifier and inverter.

When the converter works in the inverter state, if the AC side of the converter is connected to the AC power supply, the DC inverter into the AC power with the same frequency is sent back to the power grid, called active inverter. If the AC side of the converter is not connected to the power grid, but directly connected to the load, that is, the DC inverter into a certain frequency or adjustable frequency of AC power supply load, it is called passive inverter. Ac frequency conversion speed regulation is the use of this principle. In addition to the DC reversible speed control system, active inverter is also used in the cascade speed control of AC spouted rotor asynchronous motor and HVDC transmission.
